Simon has been playing the Highland pipes since 1998, when he first picked up the practice chanter whilst studying engineering at college. He has been an extremely gifted musician from the age of 12, also playing the trumpet and keyboards. He has studied piping at the College of Piping in Glasgow, and has played with several pipe bands in the UK and South Wales.

Simon has been a solo piper since 2000, having performed at several prestigious events around the country. His performances include a Celtic festival in France, a travel documentary in Northern Spain, and a performance for a member of the Royal Family in South Wales. 

 He has also done some film work, and has made a few appearances on television and radio, also having a mention on Steve Wright in the afternoon.
